How to Hang Decorative Wall Mirrors

|

One way to add an elegant and distinctive touch of personality to any room in your home is to add a decorative wall mirror. These reflective works of art will express your personal creative good taste to the room in which they hang. With a plethora of styles, shapes and sizes, there is a good chance that you will find one to match the decor of any room in your home.

After you have explored all the styles, shapes and sizes and you have made your final decision, you want to be sure that when you mount your mirror that the mounting is done correctly. You want to be sure that you have done your homework and will have your mirror mounted safely on the wall. You don't want to walk into the room and find your wall damaged and heaven forbid, find your new mirror shattered on the floor.

What you want to do is take the necessary steps, when hanging your mirror on the wall, to install this wall art correctly the first time around. When done the correct way, you will never have to worry about any accidents happening.

So now you have the wall mirror of your choice. You have selected the wall to hang it on. You have also selected the exact position on the wall to hang it.

The first thing you have to do is have someone hold the mirror against the wall where you want the mirror to hang, while you mark the wall with a pencil a short line somewhere near the center of each side of the mirror. Each line drawn can be as short as half an inch.

Now remove the hand held mirror from the wall and place it somewhere out of the way. You should now have four lines marked on the wall representing the outside perimeters of your reflective art piece. Using a ruler, measure where the center of your left and right side pencil lines will be. Make a pencil mark on the wall where the center is.

With the use of an electronic stud finder, go across the inside area that you have marked until you have an indication of where the wooden studs are located inside the wall. Once you find the studs make a pencil mark indicating where each stud is located.

On the back side of your wall mirror, look for where the mirror hanger attached to the back side of the mirror is located. Measure the distance where the hanger is located from the top of the mirror. Now go to the wall you have just pencil marked. From your top pencil mark, go down the center and mark on the wall, with pencil, exactly where the hanger will be located on the wall when the mirror is hung.

If your mirror has more than one hanger attached to the back side, then measure how far apart each hanger is from the center of the mirror. After you have measured the locations of the hangers, make the pencil markings on the wall where they will be located when the mirror is hung on the wall.

With an electric screwdriver, screw a wall clip on to the wall using a wood screw large enough and long enough to go through the wall and deep into the wooden stud inside the wall. If only one wall clip is necessary, make sure the clip is firmly attached to the wall and hang your mirror.

If your wall mirror requires two wall clips, then with a device called a level, go across the two screw hole markings you have marked on the wall and make any adjustments necessary to make sure your markings are level with each other.

When you are sure that your screw hole markings are level, go ahead and screw on the two wall clips using an electric screwdriver and a wood screw large enough and long enough to go through the wall and deep into the wooden stud inside the wall. Always make sure your wall clips are securely attached to the wall before hanging your decorative wall mirror. Now hang your mirror.

With the proper tools and techniques hanging a decorative wall mirror is something most anyone can do. Within a few minutes this job can be completed and the results will be a reflection of the artful creativity in you.

Wall Mirrors Are Just What You Want

|

A few days ago I received an email from one of the members of my e-letter. Her name was Karen. She wrote me to ask me for some information on wall mirrors. In her letter she asked me to give her an idea on what her options are in respect to the different types of wall mirrors.

She was interested in what is available in wall mirrors with respect to mirror theme, style, framed, frame color, frame material, frame finish, frameless, shape, orientation, and any additional information which would help her in her search for several wall mirrors in her home.

So what I did was break down each of the topics on wall mirrors she wrote in her e-mail and provide information on each of them. This way she would have a good knowledge of wall mirrors in general.

I started out with "Wall Mirror Theme." When it comes to the theme of a wall mirror, your choices are Floral, Nautical, Tropical and Exotic. If you go online and browse through mirror specialty stores, you will find good examples of these themed wall mirrors.

Next on the list is "Style." Here she had a large variety to choose from. Your choices of styles of wall mirrors are Commercial, Oriental, Transitional, Novelty, Modern/Contemporary, Traditional, Ornate/Gothic, Venetian, Casual, Mission, Craftsmen, Shaker, Children's, Tropical and Exotic. If she wishes to dig deeper, I'm sure she could come up with several more styles of wall mirrors to choose from, but the examples I have given for styles will give her a good idea of what is available.

So now we are taking a look at what is available in framed wall mirrors. Here I will go over what types of material wall mirror frames are made from. After frame materials, I will go over the frame colors that are the most popular.

Framed wall mirrors are constructed with several different materials. These materials include Glass Frame, Resin Frame, Wood Frame, Metal Frame, Wrought Iron Frame, Mosaic Frame, Pressed Paper Frame, Wood/Metal Combo Frame, Synthetic Frame and Leather/Faux Leather Frame. Now she has a good idea of what wall mirror frames are constructed of.

Now I will go over wall mirror frame colors. There are a large gamut of colors to choose from such as Cherry, Silver, Oak, Gold, Mahogany, Pewter, Bronze, Copper, Nickel, Black, White, Light Wood, Medium Wood, Dark Wood, Multi Color and if that wasn't enough, you can also get wall mirror frames in custom colors.

Frameless wall mirrors are also available. Sometimes the perfect finishing touch to the room is a frameless wall mirror.

Next, let's explore the various shapes of wall mirrors. The shape of a wall mirror is extremely important when it comes to the style or theme of a room. You need to examine the entire feel of a room from furniture to draperies, from paint color to lighting fixtures and then determine what shape wall mirror will compliment the room.

For the most part, the shapes of wall mirrors are Oval, Rectangle, Round, Arch/Crowned Top, Square, Sunburst, Octagon and Heart. If you go online to a mirror specialty store, you will be able to find wall mirrors in just about every shape imaginable.

Although the majority of wall mirrors are for residential use, you will also find wall mirrors for commercial use available. Additional features available for wall mirrors are ADA Compliant, Beveled Glass/Frame, Eco friendly, Fog Free, Magnifying, Tilt, Hooks, Lighted, Shelves/Drawers, Stemware Storage and Artwork.

Of course, the sizes of these wall mirrors will vary from small to quite large and every size in between.

A couple of days later, after I sent all this information to Karen, she sent me another e-mail to thank me for all this wall mirror information I sent to her. She said that now she knows exactly what to look for when choosing a new wall mirror.

It's not difficult to choose the perfect wall mirror for the room. All you have to know is what your options are. With the theme of the room in mind you will be able to add an artful reflection of your good taste.

Framed Wall Mirror Guilty or Not?

|

If you are wondering what I meant by this title, let me explain. What all home owners are looking for is that one piece that is exquisite yet functional. What they all yearn for is this main focal point for their décor as someone enters the room. They want an object in their homes that is striking and pleasing to the eye. In fact they are hoping that you won’t be able to take your eyes off of it. The framed wall mirror can give you this effect. It can be mesmerizing and demands ones attention.

The framed wall mirror is the perfect touch for any room. It enables you to transform an ordinary space into an extraordinary display of charm and grace. It can be the main attraction or be just the right accent to pull together the entire look.

Mirrors are usually a piece of glass with a metal coating. The coating produces the reflection that allows us to see ourselves. What draws people to mirrors are the frames. The right frame can propel a mirror beyond its practical use. It heightens the ambience and reflects the beauty of your home.

Framed mirrors give the impression of the room to be larger then it is. It helps create the illusion of space and adds light into the room. They are a work of art and come in a wealth of styles, shapes, finishes and sizes. They appeal to a wide demographic area. Unlike some purchases, many of the sales for these are impulse buys. This has helped the framing industry thrive.

When choosing a framed wall mirror it is best to find one that complements the other furniture and accessories in the room. It makes a stunning statement in entranceways, living rooms, dinning rooms or bedrooms. They are available in oval, round, square and rectangular shapes. There is a framed mirror to fit any wall imaginable. No matter what type of décor your house cries out for you can find them in modern, contemporary, traditional, or Victorian styles. Wood, wrought iron, resin, fiberglass, metal and antiqued are a few materials they are made from. To blend with your furniture they come in an assortment of finishes such as mahogany, espresso, black, gold and antique white.

A framed mirror can be hung on a wall the same way as framed artwork. It should be hung on a sturdy wire attached to the back of the mirror and then hung off a single hook. For a heavier wall mirror the best method is to attach an anchor and a hook right into the wall stud. Most manufacturers will include the hardware for easy installation.

In my home I have an antiqued gold leaf framed wall mirror above my fireplace in the living room. I also added sconces and plants around it for an additional touch of elegance and style. The most elaborate look that I have seen was a framed mirror that was added to an entire mirrored wall. This produced a marvelous accent for a formal setting.

If your home is of modern design let me suggest you match several small framed mirrors together. For a chic elegant look try a white distressed wood frame or if you have several antiques it would be best to stay with the same type of frame as the rest of your furniture. The price varies on the size, material and quality of the frame. I am certain there is one to fit every budget.

It’s elegance, versatility and durability makes the framed wall mirror guilty as charged!

How to Install an Iron Wall Candle Holder

|

Iron wall candle holders have been around for thousands of years. They date back to medieval times where these wall candle holders were used for lighting the hallways of castles. Today these charming pieces of decorative art are used to add a feeling of warmth and tranquility to the room whose walls adorn them.

In order to install these types of candles, you must first know the circumstances of the room in which these will hang. Since this form of indoor wall lighting will use candles for lighting, you must examine the room to make sure that these wall candles will not be placed on the walls near anything that could possibly catch fire while the candles are burning, such as surrounding art, curtains, coat racks and anything else that could catch fire.

Keep in mind that candles melt and melted wax can get on your walls and floors. To avoid this you may want to have some sort of glass cover around your candle. Glass covers are available in clear frosted or colors of your choice.

Another good idea is to determine how high on the walls you wish to place these holders. If children are a part of your household, you may want to place these holders above the reach of children.

After you know whether you want or don't want a glass covering your candle and exactly how high you want your holders on your walls, the next thing is to measure each wall for placement. Depending on how many you wish to place on each wall, with a tape measure, measure how high on the wall you want to place them. I suggest that you measure from the floor up the wall and mark the wall at the proper height using a pencil. Go about 12 inches over from your first wall mark and repeat this procedure. Now you have 2 pencil marks on the wall at the same height about 12 inches apart.

Next, measure the width of the wall at the same height you placed the 2 previous height pencil marks and write the width measurement on a piece of paper. Depending on how many of these holders you wish to hang, divide the width of the wall by the number of wall candles you wish to hang. Once you know how far apart each holder will be, then using a tape measure, mark the wall with a pencil dot on each place the holder will hang.

If you are placing iron wall candle holders along the sides of wall art or a wall mirror, then what you need to do is measure how far from the left and right side of the artwork you wish to place each holder. With your measuring tape go to the left and right side of the wall art (or wall mirror) and measure from the edge of the art outward on both sides. Make sure your outward measurements on both sides are identical. Repeat this step over again on both sides, only this time go about 8 inches either above or below your first marks on both sides of your wall art (or wall mirror).

Now using the 2 pencil dots you have on both sides of your wall art, line your tape measure from the floor up the wall using the 2 pencil dots as a guide for a straight line and mark a pencil dot on the wall exactly how high you wish to hang your candle holder. Repeat this procedure on the other side of the wall art and you will have identical spacing for your holders on both sides of the wall art (or wall mirror).

Iron wall candle holders are not light in weight. In order to hang these holders securely you must use what is known as a wall anchor. Remember, never try to hang an iron wall candle holder with a screw directly into drywall or plastered walls. It just won't hold the weight.

Wall anchors are small devices that are placed into the wall at the exact same place a screw would go to hold up these types of wall candle. By using a wall anchor you will be able to hold heavy objects such as heavy metal sconces securely to the wall without having to worry about the fixture becoming loose from the wall and eventually falling off the wall.

Wall anchors come in different styles and sizes to accommodate different size screws that will screw into it after the anchor has been placed into the wall. My favorite wall anchor for hanging wall mounted candle holders looks like a short stubby plastic screw with a screw hole in the center.

This anchor is easy to install. All you have to do is drill a small hole (about half the diameter of the anchor) where you want to place the screw to hold your candle on the wall. After you have drilled the small hole, all you have to do is screw in the anchor into the small hole you just drilled until it is flush to the wall. Repeat this procedure for all the screws needed to mount your iron wall candle holder. When you have inserted all the anchors needed to mount your wall sconce to the wall, then you simply hold the wall sconce in position over the anchors and proceed to screw your holder up to the wall. It is as simple as that and rest assured that your candle sconce is on the wall securely.

Iron wall candle holders are works of art that come in many different shapes and sizes. They add comfort to the overall feeling of any room in which they are placed on the wall. With a small amount of effort you can add these to several rooms of your home and enjoy a simple but pleasing touch of art passed on down through the centuries.

Bathroom Wall Mirrors: Choosing What's Best For You

|

There are a number of different kinds of bathroom wall mirrors, so with a little thought it should be easy for you to find the mirror that is exactly right for your bathroom.

When you are thinking about what kind of mirror you want, the key points for you to keep in mind are the mirror's practical use and its appearance. You probably want a mirror that will fit your specifications in both of these areas. Fortunately, there are so many types of mirrors available that you will be able to easily find the one that will both catch your eye and meet your needs.

How Big Should It Be?

The appearance of your bathroom mirror is very important. One factor to consider is the size. Your mirror should make a nice fit to your bathroom-- neither so small that it is not noticeable, nor large enough to be overwhelming if your room is small. When you take the size of your bathroom into account, you can then select the size of mirror that fits the best and looks the nicest.

Another factor in your mirror's appearance is how it is made. There is a wide range of styles available: plain mirrors that have nothing else added, and mirrors with frames made of plastic, wicker, and metal. Whether you select a mirror with or without a frame depends entirely on your own preference. If your taste runs toward framed mirrors, you can have a frame that will enhance your bathroom's décor and draw your guests' attention to your lovely mirror.

Fog-Resistant

You also have a choice between a wall mirror with a regular surface and one which is resistant to fogging. The latter will provide extra ease in shaving and other personal grooming routines, as it is less affected by the steam from your bathroom than a regular mirror. Although a mirror will not entirely resist steam fogging, if you have ever tried to use a mirror after a hot shower, you will appreciate the fact that one of these mirrors is not as difficult to use.

When you are contemplating which specific bathroom wall mirror you want, it is a good idea to think about where you plan to attach it. You may decide to mount the mirror above your sink or on an empty wall; either of these ideas will work fine, and coming to a decision in advance will help you in purchasing the size and style of mirror that will look the best in its designated spot.

Accommodating Youngsters

If you have small children or elderly people in your home, you may wish to attach the mirror where it is most convenient for their use. Brushing hair and teeth is much easier if a person does not have to stretch over a sink or stand on a stool in order to reach a mirror. In addition, if you have youngsters you may consider an unbreakable bathroom wall mirror to be the best choice, because even mounting it on a wall is not a guarantee that it cannot become broken.

Wall Mounted Mirrors- 3 Common Purchase Mistakes Revealed

|

The top 3 mistakes when buying a Wall Mounted Mirror are:

The first mistake people make when purchasing Wall Mounted Mirrors is not shopping around. This is such a silly and common mistake. It is really a shame that people make this mistake because with a few moments spent looking online you can find a few different Wall Mounted Mirrors to choose from and also assure yourself you are getting a good deal on the mirror. Why would you want to pay extra for a new mirror if you do not have to?

The second mistake people make purchasing new Wall Mounted Mirrors is not investigating the quality of materials in the mirror. This too is a very foolish mistake to make because the quality of the materials that make you mirror up will help determine the length of time you can expect your mirror to look good and last.

The third and final of the most common mistakes people make purchasing new Wall Mounted Mirrors is not making sure they have the appropriate hardware to hang the mirror on the wall they want it on. Wall Mounted Mirrors are heavy and can damage a wall or can fall and shatter if not secured to the wall properly. This mistake is not as common as the other two but is one of the most costly of the mistakes you can make. When you purchase a new Wall Mounted Mirror please, I beg you, make the effort to secure the mirror properly or you will be replacing that mirror a lot sooner than you expect.

In conclusion, when purchasing new Wall Mounted Mirrors, keep the three above mentioned mistakes that people make in mind so that you can possibly avoid them.

Discover Tuscan Metal Wall Art Decorating Ideas

|

Tuscan metal wall art is an easy and popular way to add a touch
of personality to your home decor. If you are into rustic, country,
French country, Mediterranean, Western, Victorian, Italian or Tuscan; metal wall
art is available to enhance any of these styles of home decor. Read on to discover
how to incorporate metal art accents into your home.

The wrought iron wall crown is in high demand, as it quickly and easily
classes up other wall art. This long, narrow piece of metal wall decor
can accent a framed wall art piece or add a new dimension to a large
wall tapestry. Another application that is very attractive, is to place it above
a wall grouping, to tie it all together. For example, you may have a
small tapestry with a wall clock and add the Tuscan metal wall decor over the pair. Or a metal
wall art crown can add a upscale flair to a grouping of family pictures.
Consider hanging metal wall art above your television, a large
doorway or above a picture window. The unique shape of the metal wall art crown
lends itself to some unique applications in your home decorating arrangements.

Square, metal wall art pieces can be used in with a wall group or in
accent groups with 2 or more like metal decor pieces. Smaller, square
metal wall art pieces can be used on a small wall area just to add some dimension. Or
you may take 2, 3, or 4 coordinating pieces to create a wall grouping. Some-
thing fun and interesting to consider, is to hang some of the metal wall
art pieces at the corner in a diamond shape. If you have a nice size wall,
use a focus piece, such as a wall tapestry, large wall clock or framed art
and place 2 pieces of metal wall art on one side of the focus piece,
hanging one wrought iron piece square and stagger the 2nd wrought iron piece
and hang from the corner, in a diamond shape style. On the other side of
your focus piece, hang just one piece of wrought iron. This piece may be
of the same size as the 2 on the other side or larger, preferably a
rectangular shape metal wall art design. What a stunning, interesting
wall group. And it was all very easy and creates a homey but designer look.

You just discovered one way to use a rectangular shaped metal wall art piece.
Obviously, this wall art shape can vary in size greatly. An average size Tuscan metal art piece
can hang alone on a wall. You may also make a metal grouping, using rectangular and square
shapes. Rectangular metal wall art is also attractive with floral arrangements,
as the floral wreath or swag will add some color and softness to the metal.
The popular wall pockets would be a great addition to accent a nice rectangular wall art piece.

Again, the wall pockets may be filled with floral for a splash of color and additional texture.
Another trendy look with the wrought iron would be wall sconces. A candle
sconce will add color and new shapes to the wall. One very interesting
idea with the rectangular metal wall art piece you might want to consider is
to hang at an angle. Hang at a pleasing angle over your tv console and
then place a vase on the tabletop. This adds a lot of interest and creativity.
Add one more splash, by scrunching up a table runner under the vase and
let the ends of the runner fall over the edges of the tv cabinet top. I like the idea of using
an interesting vase--maybe with nothing in it,--but also fun would
be a unique canister and tray set, an artsy bowl or a chunky candlestick or
2 or 3--in various heights. Let your imagination go. Just watch your proportions, so one accessory does
not overshadow the other pieces and all items should be of a size to compliment
the tv console.

Large Tuscan metal wall decor has found some great places in todays homes. Whether,
square, round or rectangular, oversized metal wall art pieces, are
great when used as the headboard for your bed, in a room with cathedral
ceilings and on the large wall along your open stairway. The large metal
wall art piece can easily be used alone. But you may want to add a little
something more for added texture, dimension and color. Plus, if your wall is
huge, you can expand the look with a few choice accessory pieces. The 3
accessories that could compliment your large metal art would be candle
wall sconces, wall mirrors or wall pockets. Just remember, that your large
metal wall art will require large accessories. Large, unique wall sconces or
plushly filled wall pockets would be fabulous to add additional texture, color and
dimension. Another thought, if you employ either of these enhancements,
keep the designer look going, by hanging at staggered levels on either side
of your metal wall art. Or you may hang a long, slender mirror and a sconce or
wall pocket along just one side of your metal wall art. One of the keys here,
is that odd number of items are much easier and more pleasing to the eye
in an arrangement.

The style of metal wall art will determine what style of decor it will work best with.
Tuscan, Italian and French style home decor are really enhanced with an aged patina, with
a chunkier, rough look. Some of the most popular, trendy metal wall art is accented with leaf motifs,
and twiggy branch looks--these pieces are great with the Italian, and Country looks.

Some of the Country French decor may demand a lighter color metal
with more intricate design. Country or Nautical decor begs for a simple, antiqued look.
You may want to find some design details that emphasis these looks, such as a rope look,
nautical shapes, seashell motifs or a rivet bolt accent on the metal wall art. The right
metal wall decor piece may be a great accent in a softer, Victorian style room if you
look for more detail, such as curls, scrolls and a lighter weight feel. Keep the piece from
being too chunky.

Kitchen Wall Clock - What Your Time Should Look Like

|

You know, I spend a lot of time in my kitchen. Every morning I'm sitting at my kitchen table having my usual cup of coffee or two. If I happen to be at home during the noon hour, here I am, back in my kitchen fixing myself something to eat for lunch. In the late afternoon, once again, I'm back in my kitchen preparing the evening meal for myself and my family.

I have noticed over the years that the one thing most kitchens have is a clock hanging on the wall. I have also noticed that the style of kitchen clock hanging on the wall can make the difference between dull and unnoticeable and charming and sensational.

In order to compliment the style of your kitchen with a wall clock that will be a charming sensation, all you have to do is know what wall clock will add these attributes to your kitchen's atmosphere.

So okay, let the truth be known that the thought of writing this information on kitchen wall clocks wasn't all my idea. I received an email from the contact page of the website the other day. It was a note from a lady by the name of Catherine.

Catherine had written me a note saying that she was browsing through the website and came across "Wall Clocks." As she further explored this section of the website, she was so impressed by the information on kitchen wall clocks, she decided to write me to express her appreciation. So this is actually how I got the idea to write about wall clocks for this special room.

So let me see. Where do I start? How about I go over different styles of kitchen decor and then I will make suggestions of what style wall clock might be the perfect match.

When it comes to kitchen styles or decor, you have Art Deco, Country, Modern and Retro. The colors of this room may or in some cases may not influence the style of wall clock you hang on your kitchen wall. This all depends on basically on the type of wall clock you choose to hang.

I will start out with the Art Deco kitchen. This type of kitchen decor usually has some sort of wall art hanging on the walls. This could be plaques in the forms of fruit or vegetables. Also, the kitchen backsplash walls will typically have mosaic tile murals running above the counters with pictures of Horns of Plenty, Wine Bottles with Platters of Fruit and Cheese or Baskets of a Colorful Fruit and Vegetable Arrangements.

The Art Deco kitchen could be accompanied by several styles of wall clocks. These clocks include the Recipes Decorative Wall Clock which starts its life as an actual painting which is then transformed into a kitchen wall clock. In this style of wall clock you also have Whimsical Teapots, Cappuccino Decorative and The Vitis wall clock that features a Vitaceae vine design. These are more than kitchen wall clocks. These are works of art.

So now let's take a look at Country Kitchens. Here there are a variety of themes to choose from. You have to ask yourself is your Country Kitchen theme based on flowers, farm animals, domestic animals, fruit, vegetables, wild birds or frogs (yes, I said frogs).

If your answer is flowers, then you might want to choose the Sunflower with the Brown center wall clock, Red Garden Wall Clock, the Daisy pendulum wall clock or the Bouquet Tiny Times Clock. Your choice is just a matter of which clock will best match up with the colors and style of your kitchen.

Next we will take a look at the Modern Kitchen. Here you have stainless steel appliances with metal wall tile walls and backsplashes. Glass top tables with acrylic chairs, chrome pot racks and multi-colored small appliances sitting on counter tops. So now you ask me, "What style of kitchen wall clock would be the perfect solution to this modern day mess hall?"

Well let's have a look. You could go with the Stainless Steel wall clock and keep the metal thing going in your kitchen. You could go with the Round Mirror or the Thin Mirror kitchen wall clock. That is, of course, if mirrors in your kitchen are your thing. You can go with the Studio 24 Collection. This stunning contemporary wall clock will turn heads.

This rectangular wood wall clock, finished in Black Coffee, features a curved front with recessed brushed nickel bands, with complementing brushed nickel finished hands. This kitchen wall clock features a curved pendulum that is supported by a bold brushed nickel stick to match the case. You never know what style wall click will have you friends saying, "Wow, where did you get that clock?"

Now let's turn our mind's eye to the Retro Kitchen. For those of you who have the Diner style kitchen in your home, these kitchen wall clocks are for you. You know who you are. You have the red Formica kitchen table with the chrome table edge and four red padded kitchen chairs with the bent metal chrome chair framing. You have a checkered tablecloth and a jukebox table top music selector that just happens to be a combination AM/FM Radio/CD Player/MP3 Player.

Well let's see. What kind of kitchen wall clock are you looking for? You could go with your standard Retro Round Metal Wall Clock in you color choice of red, green, black, silver or white. Then you have the Deco Retro Kitchen Wall Clock. This white porcelain frame is accented wonderfully by retro-styled red Arabic numerals and a red center dial. Maybe?

For those of you who really want the finishing touch to the retro diner look in your kitchen you have to go with a retro logo wall clock. Here you have clocks such as the Coca Cola Double Bubble Clock, the Nesbitt's LTD Edition Double Bubble Clock and the Orange Crush Double Bubble Clock. These are reproductions of the same clocks that hung on the walls of diners across the USA in the 50's and 60's.

So now you know that when it comes to kitchen wall clocks you have choices. So many choices that it is mind boggling. My suggestion, take your time to before you choose your time.

So many times I have been contacted by my web site enthusiasts interested in knowing what is available in different and unusual wall decor. They want some information on wall decor that will set them apart from the usual boring “Same old, same old.”

They also say that they would like to decorate their walls in a way that would express themselves as individuals who don’t necessarily follow the crowd. They ask for my suggestions of what I believe to be tastefully and uncommonly artful wall decor.

The steel is then hand brushed to a rich textured finish. The unique colors available are from a process called Kaleidikolor. The final process is powder coating to assure durability for both inside and outside wall hanging applications.

I found a variety of different topics made into Kaleidikolor art forms. Other forms of metal wall planters have artfully curvaceous wall mounted hanging brackets with metal mesh baskets hung by artful chains. Removable Wall Decor

|

Want to liven up the walls of your child's bedroom but still having nightmare flashbacks about removing all that 70's wallpaper? Look no further, because removable wall decor may be just the answer you're looking for.

In the past, decorating walls involved pasting sheets of paper that were virtually impossible to remove. Not only that, but they were equally impossible to align. Painted wall murals became popular for a while, but they required a lot of work and a good degree of artistic talent. Many people used stencils to try to achieve a professional quality, but in the end you were left with a lot of effort for something that your child may grow tired of very quickly.

These days, vinyl wall decals come in all shapes and sizes. Wall decor and printing technology has merged to create great products that are full of vibrant color. Best of all, they are easy to apply and come off your walls just as quickly - leaving no glue, residue, or trace of a mark behind. This advantage alone would be worth it, but then factor in how fickle and changing a child's tastes can be… and that's when you realize how important it is to get removable wall decor.

And these types of wall stickers and decals are not just for kids, either. Many varieties of removable wall decor are produced for living rooms and adult living spaces. Some very detailed wall murals and sticker creations can turn your living room into a deep forest, a rose-filled garden, or a window overlooking a beautiful lake. Online stores like the Wall Sticker Outlet has hundreds of options when it comes to removable wall decor, and they offer on all of their products.

Peel and Stick wall appliques can be applied to the walls of your home just as vinyl decals, either in conjunction to compliment a wall mural or by themselves. Going on without glue or paste, these removable decals can be used to spruce up accessories, cabinets, mirror frames, and anywhere else you can think of. Removable wall borders are also available, and can be used in any room of the house.

Another recent idea for removable wall decor has been the invention of the chalkboard surface. This fantastic product can be applied to any smooth surface and then written on, with normal chalk, just as if it were a blackboard. Slap one on the fridge and scribble your shopping list, or place one on your dorm room wall and leave a note for your roommate. The possibilities for wall chalkboards are endless, and they peel right off without glue or mess. They also come in a dry-erase surface as well, which can be written on with a dry-erase marker and then wiped clean with a cloth.

So don't be afraid! Wall stickers and decals aren't as scary as you think they might be. At least not today, in the age of removable wall decor.
