Using Focus Walls To Accent A Room

|

A focus wall can be the defining touch in a room, changing it from a comfortable room, into THE comfortable room. The first thing a person will see is the one accented wall, which can be used to accentuate a certain item in the room.

Walking into a room without an accent wall, nothing in particular will stick out. But by adding one distinct color, say a casual red wall with the rest a dark khaki, it will immediately push the eyes to your desired wall. A fireplace is a great piece to have on the wall, as it is normally the anchor of a room. One of the most effective uses of this is a living room with a red wall around the fireplace.

Choosing your focus wall is quite simple, just find the wall with the main feature item on it, and choose that one. It's most commonly the room directly across from the entrance. Identify this wall, add a splash of valiant color, and you instantly have something that stands out from the normal run-of-the-mill rooms.

Focus walls can be used in any room, from bedrooms to dining rooms. The project itself is cheap, easy, and can be done in just a few hours. You don't need to be a pro to do it either, a little experience painting and a small chunk of time will allow you to completely alter the look of any piece of your house.

The walls are the bare bones of the room; use these bare bones to make your room as pleasing to the eyes as possible.
